Efficacy and Safety of Intralesional Vitamin D3 in the Treatment of Plantar Warts


 Objective: To explore the effectiveness and safety of intralesional cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) for treatment plantar warts.
 Study Design: Prospective longitudinal study.
 Place Duration Study: Tertiary Care Hospital, Multan Pakistan, from Sep 2019 to Aug 2020.
 Methodology: Sixty-two patients with warts varying sizes duration were included in study. Intralesional lignocaine was used anaesthetize skin. About 0.2ml injection solution (600,000 IU, 15mg/mL) injected a 30-gauge needle base wart under aseptic measures. A maximum 4 per session at 3-week intervals until resolution or amaximum 6 treatments. Patients followed up six months after last recurrence.
 Results: completed study, including 45(72.58%), who had complete clearance following 14(22.5%) which showed partial response 3(4%) cases no response.
 Conclusions: vitamin D3 is safe effective warts.
